Rest assured, however, professionals are available to help guide you through the senior care process to give you and your family peace of mind.

Why LECOM health?
LECOM Health is a vertically integrated health system that includes: two hospitals (Millcreek and Corry), multiple skilled nursing facilities, home health, hospice, and independent and personal care apartments, just to name a few. We have a wide range of primary care physicians as well as other specialties that assess and treat a wide range of conditions. The LECOM system offers numerous services designed for people to age successfully in place.

We treat every person as if it’s our own family member, and we remain available to answer questions at any point during the process.
What services are included at your skilled nursing facilities (nursing homes)?
LECOM Health has three skilled nursing facilities in Erie; LECOM Senior Living Center, LECOM Nursing and Rehabilitation, and LECOM at Village Square. Each offers a team of nursing staff that includes RNs/LPNs, CNAs, and aides, including housekeeping. Therapy andtive aides are also available to help maximize your highest level of function. Semi-private and private rooms are available depending on location. We have a team of doctors, physicians, and therapists that provide residents with continuous, compassionate care.
Is the cost of senior care covered under my insurance?
Insurance coverage depends primarily on what your needs are and the level of care you receive. If you are at a hospital and in need of moving to a short-term need to move in a skilled nursing facility, then typically insurance coverage applied for insurance coverage typically or independent or personal care (assisted living) apartments, then typically it is not covered by your insurance. We evaluate each person’s situation and coverage as some unique circumstances may apply, and we take time to educate you about your options.
How is LECOM handling the current COVID-19 situation?
Safety is the top priority when it comes to how LECOM Health is handling the COVID-19 situation. We ensure that proper screenings and questionnaires are being completed by anyone who enters our buildings. We implement proper personal protective equipment to ensure resident safety. In some cases, however, we need to limit visitations in order to help protect our residents.
